The Wooly Bugger Game Changer is a large, articulated baitfish streamer that combines the legendary fish-catching DNA of the Wooly Bugger with the revolutionary multi-segment action of the Game Changer design. This white and grey version features layered marabou and craft fur with black flash accents and a large 3D eye on a sculpted white head, creating a fly that undulates, wiggles, and breathes with every twitch of the rod tip. Few flies look more alive in the water than the Wooly Bugger Game Changer.

When to Use:

Best Time of Year: Spring through fall, with peak effectiveness during low-light conditions, overcast days, and fall pre-spawn. Excellent in off-colour or slightly stained water where the white and grey profile creates maximum contrast and visibility.

Imitates: Large baitfish including shiners, chub, juvenile trout, and perch fry. The articulated segments create a side-to-side swimming action no rigid fly can replicate.

Target Fish: A true multi-species trophy fly. Northern pike in Ontario and prairie lakes will strike this pattern with reckless aggression. Large rainbow and brown trout in BC and Ontario rivers. Smallmouth and largemouth bass across Ontario. Walleye during low-light feeding windows. Coho and Chinook salmon in BC coastal rivers during fall runs will also target large white baitfish patterns.

Pro Tip: Vary your retrieve until you find what the fish want that day. Long, fast strips for pike and bass; slow, twitchy retrieves with pauses for trout and walleye. The pause is often when the strike comes, as the segmented body continues to shimmy and settle even when the fly is motionless.
